Vegan and vegetarian diets have become increasingly popular, particularly in adolescents and young adults. Mental health clinicians rarely ask patients about diet history and if they do, a vegetarian or vegan diet is often seen as the “healthy choice”. The explosion of research on how nutrition, diet, and lifestyle impact brain function and mental health is seldom discussed in medical and mental health training programs for professionals.
Does it matter? Is diet relevant to mental health?
The answer is unequivocally YES.
In this important webinar, integrative psychiatrist and eating disorders expert, Dr. James Greenblatt, will explore the connections between vegetarian/vegan diets and mental health, especially in the adolescent and young adult population. You’ll learn from Dr. Greenblatt’s decades of clinical experience leading an eating disorders care system and guiding patients to recovery. He will discuss research associations between these diets and psychiatric disorders. Finally, he will also specifically review key nutrients that may be deficient in patients on vegetarian/vegan diets.
Attend this webinar to gain insights into the neuropsychiatric implications of vegetarian/vegan diets and learn direct protocols for assessment and treatment, which will ultimately lead to better outcomes and relief for your patients.
