Characterized by recurrent hair-pulling and significant emotional distress, trichotillomania (TTM) can severely impact quality of life—and traditional treatment strategies often fall short. In this compelling webinar, Dr. James Greenblatt, Chief Medical Director of Psychiatry Redefined, will explore a functional medicine approach to understanding and treating TTM. Clinicians will gain insights into the biological underpinnings of this disorder, including the role of neurotransmitter imbalances, gut health, and nutrient deficiencies. Clinicians will walk away with an expanded clinical toolkit for treating this complex disorder.

Overview

Trichotillomania (TTM), a body-focused repetitive behavior, is often misunderstood and notoriously difficult to treat. Dr. Greenblatt will share evidence-based strategies that go beyond behavioral therapy, highlighting the use of targeted nutrients like low-dose lithium and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) to enhance impulse control and support long-term recovery.

Be sure to stick around post-presentation for a live attendee Q&A with Dr. Greenblatt to learn more about our Pediatric Fellowship in Functional Psychiatry—a comprehensive program that provides effective clinical protocols, testing methodologies, and interventions for pediatric mental health patients.
