Instructor: James Greenblatt, MD & Mariela Podolski, MD
Mental health concerns are now a daily part of pediatric practice. From ADHD and anxiety to mood and behavioral challenges, pediatric providers are being asked to manage increasingly complex cases—often without the time, tools, or training to feel fully confident in what to do next.
At the same time, parents are asking more questions than ever:
- “Are there alternatives to medication?”
- “What supplements actually work?”
- “Is this diet, sleep, or something else?”
- “Can we do both—medication and something more?”
Overview
In this live, case-informed Q&A session, James Greenblatt, MD, is joined by Mariela Podolski, MD—a child and adult psychiatrist, former Fellow, and member of the Psychiatry Redefined faculty—who brings real-world clinical experience on how to integrate these approaches into a thriving practice.
Together, they will address what pediatric providers are facing every day—and offer clear, practical guidance you can use immediately. Drawing on decades of clinical experience and the work behind Finally Focused, this session will explore:
- How to approach common pediatric mental health concerns with greater clarity and confidence
- When and how to consider supplements—and how they may interact with medications
- What to do when parents are hesitant about medication or asking for alternatives
- How factors like nutrition, sleep, and underlying biology can influence behavior and mood
- Practical ways to expand your approach—without overhauling your practice
This session is designed to be interactive, with a strong focus on real clinical questions and scenarios. You’ll have the opportunity to bring your own questions and hear how experienced clinicians think through these challenges in practice.
We’ll also briefly introduce the Psychiatry Redefined Pediatric Fellowship—a program designed specifically for pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who want deeper clinical guidance, practical tools, and ongoing support as they navigate the growing demand for mental health care.
If you’re seeing more mental health concerns—and more questions from families—this session will help you feel better equipped for what’s already in front of you.
Bring your questions. This is your opportunity to get clear, practical answers you can use right away.
