Autism is often discussed as a single diagnosis, but clinically, the presentation can be far more nuanced. In this webinar, Dr. Steven Eisenstein, a double-board certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist with more than 35 years of experience and a deep clinical focus on autism and complex neuropsychiatric disorders, will explore a more differentiated way of understanding autism across adolescents and adults.

Drawing from decades of clinical work, Dr. Eisenstein will examine the distinctions between autism’s grace, autism disorder, and autism syndrome, and discuss how root causes, pathogenesis, and neurobiological mechanisms may inform more personalized treatment strategies.

The session will also explore the clinical use of naltrexone, lacosamide, and benzodiazepines, including mechanisms of action, patient selection, and practical considerations for use in adults and adolescents, with discussion of trial considerations in children.

Learning Objectives

After this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between autism’s grace, autism disorder, and autism syndrome in clinical presentation.
